Richard Sanchez

Richard Sanchez first got into riding around 1980 when his family moved into a new development a mile away from a skatepark. Influenced by the rising punk scene of the early 80’s and the daredevil personas of Evel Knievel and Radical Rick, Richard skated and jumped bikes over cars, bottomless uncovered manholes and flaming tire infernos. Clad in bright checkerboard Vans, Richard found his niche in the NorCal skate and punk rock scenes and pretty soon he was putting the images in his head down on paper. Richard’s artistic style reflects the aggressive punk rock looks he saw growing up and he pays homage to 80’s skate punk with three detailed, custom T-Shirt designs for Vans.
